Every moment is full of unique interactions, nuances, and coincidences, with each one further influencing how we view the world around us. As we all spend our lifetimes assigning meaning to the many complexities that we encounter, we explore the many intersections of our identities, often engaging with one another searching for love, community, understanding and the many things that make human lives fulfilling. These things are what makes creating art such a special and beautiful process. One that is like no other, one that is truly philosophical, one that is vibrant, one that is revolutionary. It is here where we find meaning, meaning that we can share together.
Luis Aponte is a visual artist based out of Queens, NY with a deep passion for creating content that is representative of the various cultures within the African diaspora. In his teenage years, he first started with photography as a way to document his youth and explore the lives of the people in his neighborhood. As a college freshman, he spent his time learning graphic design with the hopes of understanding how to compose different visual mediums to tell stories through class projects, personal art pieces, and flyers. Upon graduating, Luis has moved into design & videography, which has always been his passion since a child. His dream is to become a filmmaker and blend his background in these different mediums to create cinema that is reflective of the experiences of Black people while also aiming to explore the future beyond today. This site chronicles his journey.
